I was working a little irresponsibly last night. And as I flipped a table up rather quickly, it caught on a loose floor tile, and the floor tile came off. We fixed it, but I feel like I should tell, even though I am afraid of the consequences.
Honesty is a perfect example of trusting in the Lord. Why don't people tell the truth? Because they are afraid of the consequences.
But when we fear the Lord more than the consequences, we will come clean and tell the whole truth.
Fear not thou; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
~Isaiah 41:10~
True to the Faith makes it clear that honesty is a bargain. When we are dishonest in our words or actions, we lose our self-respect.
Being honest often requires courage and sacrifice. If you find yourself in such a situation, remember that the lasting peace that comes from being honest is more valuable than the momentary relief of following the crowd.
It certainly took courage, but I just sent Tegan an email about what I have done, and I feel better. Now I am worried about what's going to happen to me and not whether or not I was honest. It's still uncomfortable, but I'm doing the right thing!
At work, I need to be more honest. I need to maintain my integrity in order to maintain my self-respect. There have been one or two times when I responded to text messages when I should not have, or took a little break when I should not have.
Anyways! Be good, Jarom. Be good. And God will bless you.
